The ruling party lost Bankipur seat in Bihar for the first time since 1995. 

The constituency was won by the Jan Suraaj Party, with its chief, Prashant Kishor, defeating the BJP candidate by more than 19 thousand votes. 

In Madhya Pradesh, Congress secured victory in Datia constituency. 

However, BJP comfortably retained the Manjalpur seat in Gujarat with a significant margin. 

Political observers said, the by-election results, held after the Gen-Z movement, send an important message to India's political landscape.
