He came up with the statement during a cleanliness and eviction drive in the capital’s Science Lab area.
He said, a new policy is being prepared for rickshaws, under which they will be allowed to operate only on designated roads in four zones of Dhaka South.
Rickshaws from Dhaka North will not be allowed to operate in the south.
He also said, shopping malls must keep the areas in front of their premises clean, or face action.
Businesses that have failed to pay taxes, obtain licences or follow the law despite repeated warnings will also face action.
