France is continuing to face severe heatwave conditions, with day time temperatures reaching between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius across much of the country, including Paris. 

The extreme heat has disrupted daily life as preparations continue for Bastille Day celebrations on July 14. 

Owing to the risk of wildfires and high temperatures, local authorities have restricted fireworks displays and some outdoor events.
