US forces carried out strikes on three cities in Iran's Khuzestan Province. 

In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) once again announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. 

Following the announcement, Tehran claimed responsibility for a second attack on another commercial vessel in the strategic waterway.

However, tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated to a new level.

While discussions on the Strait of Hormuz were underway in Oman.
